Most people let me filter okay and some lorry drivers need a few gold stars, jumping out the way as best the could, to be honest I have to take my hat off to them. Then of course we had the muppets using their phones, and if you know me, you know where I stand on that, let’s say I was good, all wing mirrors in tact, but I did let them know what I thought.

Finally I reached Dunbar Camping and Caravanning Club Site, where I was warmly greeted and shown a few pitches over looking the North Sea and Dunbar itself.

Wi-Fi here is crap, but that’s life, and I don’t have electric hookup for the next 2 days.

I didn’t sleep particularly well last night as was only just leaving Scone by 12pm. Needing a new gas cartridge, I found a local Halfords store and picked one up.

It was nice and sunny this morning, and apart from a slight shower the tent was mostly dry, the ground sheets wasn’t. But it meant that things got packed away a little better this morning .

After my 2 nights at Dunbar, I have 2 more club sites to stay at on the way home, just to break the journey, the thing is the weather forecast did those 4 nights is wet, and honestly I’m sort of done with the setup and decamping in the wet, so this morning I have planned a route to straight shot it home! It’s a little under 390 miles and an estimated 6 3/4 hour run, plus stops.

It would be a shame to do that run, as even a short journey today was painful enough, ok that was heavy traffic and road works, so I’ll have to see closer to Friday when I decamp here and then make that decision.

So tonight I went into Dunbar and found the castle, and it’s permanently closed as it’s falling down and no one tries to look after it, according to a fellow biker who lives bang opposite it. He also recommended The Travellers Inn for dinner, and he was spot on, I had a lovely home made steak pie with mash and pees.

Some pictures below are from the castle and what I’m seeing as I’m typing out this post.

There’s some interesting information about the invention of propellors for boats in the pictures below.
