Setting up and de-camping in the wet is getting kinda tiresome. Every time I decamp, I pull my back a little bit, nothing seems to pack as it should and it's getting old, okay it's been getting old for at least a week now, but come on with the wetness. Finally it stopped raining, and I managed to at least get the tent folded up, it may be wet but at least I wasn't getting wet.
So today we are travelling to Scone, oh I so want a cream tea, lol. But I'll have to settle for something else later. The plan today was to pop into see Dunnottar Castle.
Dunnottar Castle is one of the most impressive castles I've seen so far, it's presence on a spit of land that can only be described as a rock, would have been a most formidable fortress to say the least.
Access isn't for the faint hearted either, fortunately is was dry, so I left all the bike gear under the PackSafe and I already had shorts on under the bike trousers. According to my Health app, and I wish I had tracked the walk I did over 10,000 steps today, I would say at the very least 9,000 of those was seeing the castle, and most of that was up and down stairs, when you see the pictures below, you might have a heart attack, I must admit I struggled with this one. But OMG was it worth it.
The camping and Caravanning Club site at Scone is, like all the other a picturesque and peaceful site, well maintained and has really nice friendly staff. I would love to say I'd definitely be back in the future, as there is so much to Scotland than what I have seen. Maybe if I get the M3 sorted and I trust it enough, I'll be back up next year, and maybe a puppy would be tagging alone, but we'll see. Seriously though, I would recommend every club site I have stayed at.
